Nandurbar
Nandurbar district is an administrative district in the northwestern corner of the state of Maharashtra in India. On 1 July 1998, Dhule was divided into two separate districts, now known as Dhule and Nandurbar. Nandurbar is a tribal dominated district. The district headquarters is in Nandurbar town. The district covers an area of 5,955 km2 and has a population of 1,648,295, of which 16.71% were urban.
Nandurbar district is bordered to the south and southeast by Dhule district, to the west and north is the state of Gujarat, to the north and northeast is the state of Madhya Pradesh. The northern boundary of the district is defined by the great river Narmada.
Ranjana Sonawane of Tembhli and Rushil village in Nandurbar district became the first citizen of India to get a twelve (12) digit unique ID on September 29, 2010. The unique identifier or Aadhaar is an ambitious project of India's central government to provide a unique ID to its billion people. more civilians
