Rohtas
Rohtas district is one of the thirty-eight districts of the state of Bihar, India. It came into existence when Shahabad district was bifurcated into Bhojpur and Rohtas in 1972. The administrative headquarters of the district is Sasaram. Rohtas district has the highest literacy rate in Bihar. The literacy rate of Rohtas district, which stands at 73.37% as per 2011 census, is the highest among the 38 districts of Bihar.
Rohtas district is part of Patna division and has an area of 3,850 km², a population of 2,959,918 (2011 census) and a population density of 763 per km². The languages spoken here are Bhojpuri, Hindi and English.
